Access C++ objects wrapped by SWIG in Python

I'm working with a package that consists of C++ wrapped in Python using SWIG, along with other pure Python functionality. I'd like to call this from Julia. However, frequently passing data round-trip from Julia to Python to C++ and back to Julia is expensive due to type inference. Given a Python object created in Python that wraps a C++ object, I wonder if it's possible to "unwrap" it to interact with the C++ object directly in Julia in a Cxx-like fashion.

No files, tests, or entry points are named. First determine whether PyCall.jl can expose the underlying C++ object from a SWIG-wrapped Python object without repeated Julia-Python-C++ conversions; done means a documented, working path for direct interaction from Julia.
