- [ ] Use `OT.tnrs_match` on a list of inputs rather than `OT.taxon_info` on one ID at a time.
- [ ] Ensure short-circuiting past synonyms works when an exact match between the input term and the `canonical_form` from any sources is a match.

Research direction
Locate the code that currently calls OT.taxon_info once per input and trace how synonym matches use canonical_form. Check the OT.tnrs_match interface and existing matching flow first.
