If I:
run kdaediag
set spectrum to 99999999 or something else that doesn't exist
go back to spectrum 1
my OPI doesn't reconnect and the only way to get round this at the moment is to kill the GUI and start it again.

Reproduce the issue by running kdaediag, selecting a nonexistent spectrum such as 99999999, then returning to spectrum 1. Investigate the GUI's PVA/OPI reconnect path and verify that the OPI reconnects without requiring the GUI to be restarted.
