Compiling on WIndows

i have no clue about rust, but i tried like this:
- install rust using rustup
- compile like described for MacOs in the docs

i downloaded protobuf from here https://github.com/protocolbuffers/protobuf/releases/tag/v25.2

This also includes a directory called "includes" which has some google stuff in it. I copied this directory to the root folder of the cloned yubikey-provision repo but this changes nothing.

Can you please give me a hint on compiling for windows?

I already tried using docker, ubuntu-in-vm and now out of desperation i'm trying to compile for windows

Start by running the documented git submodule and cargo build commands on Windows and inspect the build output for proto/worker/worker.proto and the missing google/protobuf/empty.proto include. Done means the project builds successfully on Windows with the required protobuf imports resolved; the issue does not name a source file or test beyond the proto path.
