Face/Image Averaging

Is it possible in Processing or in P5 to create blended images. I have seen this done in Python, so it would seem like it would be possible in other object oriented languages. Essentially you have to find a way to line up similar pieces of all photos that will be blended, and then find the average color of each pixel to create an "average" image.
