Processing and Arduino's

My students are new to programming. I've introduced them to this wonderful world via Processing with Java by recreating old school Frogger. Now that they've seen the fun side of Processing I want to expose them to the DataViz side by collecting data about traffic patterns in front of their school (which has to use a Contraflow lane in the mornings and evenings ... it's Hawaii we are short on roads and have to share a lot). They are creating their on pressure sensors which are hooked up to an Arduino to capture the data. Once all the data is collected I want them to create a nice Data Viz of the results that they can then present to a visiting DOT representative to share their findings.

Would love to see some suggestions on how to display traffic patterns. You've shown us how to display earthquake patterns but what about traffic?
