Mini Coding Challenge: Slack Channel Chat Parsing

I'm not sure if there is an API to the slack chat but you could do some interesting things with the things people are posting. One recent and fun example of this is Twitch Plays Pokemon. Another thing you could do is parse for common phrases or words which could help you quickly see what chat is currently obsessing about (thinking back to a time when you did an entire coding challenge segment without sound only to have to redo it).

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. First determine whether Slack chat access is available and define one concrete parsing goal from the proposed ideas; completion is not specified and would need to be agreed before implementation.
