Descripción

Every week you should have a mentored coding session. This is an opportunity for you to work on a problem with a mentor together, getting support, and practice breaking down and solving problems.

If your region has education team support, you are expected to have a session with the education team every other week. In the other weeks, you should have a session with a volunteer.

You should come to the session with a problem to work on. We recommend a Codewars exercise, but it could be a backlog task, or a project you're working on.

See [the mentored coding guide](https://curriculum.codeyourfuture.io/guides/mentored-coding/) for guidance.

For education team sessions, you should already have a regular time booked. For volunteer sessions, book time with a volunteer using one of the Scheduling links in the [#cyf-mentored-coding](https://codeyourfutur-yov6609.slack.com/archives/C07PA66MQMC) slack channel's [canvas](https://codeyourfutur-yov6609.slack.com/canvas/C07PA66MQMC). If there are no available times, please post in [#cyf-mentored-coding](https://codeyourfutur-yov6609.slack.com/archives/C07PA66MQMC).

Remember, as a trainee, you will need to **explain** your thought process, **plan** out what to do, **write** the code and **check** it works.
