Markdown blockquote

Some markdown codes are not working, so I'm wondering if this is bug or feature (intended to work like this)?

I.e. Blockquote is not working:

> Blockquotes are very handy in email to emulate reply text.
> This line is part of the same quote.

Quote break.

> This is a very long line that will still be quoted properly when it wraps. Oh boy let's keep writing to make sure this is long enough to actually wrap for everyone. Oh, you can *put* **Markdown** into a blockquote.
```

The issue names no source file or test. Start by locating the Markdown parsing or rendering entry point and reproduce the supplied blockquote example; done means blockquote lines render as a quote, preserve quote breaks, and support the shown inline Markdown.
