Warning if select threshold specification doesn't match

Not sure if it's possible, but ideally we should have a warning in the select step if the user specifies an megate threshold rules that doesn't match anywhere.
E.g. it's a fairly easy mistake to write 'bIR_*' instead of 'bIR_.*', but the former won't match any line
