**Platform:**

Start with the stack-trace locations in io_client.dart:88, file_service.dart:37, and web_helper.dart:65, 97, and 115 to follow how the URI reaches the HTTP request. Check how invalid URLs are handled, then verify that an invalid URL is detected without producing the reported no-host exception.
