.vscode from the root is different from .vscode from src

Description
Just wanted to double click on what the expectation is for setting up .vscode - should it differ from the root vs. src? e.g.,:
- https://github.com/Azure-Samples/remote-mcp-functions-python/blob/main/src/.vscode/tasks.json
- https://github.com/Azure-Samples/remote-mcp-functions-python/blob/main/.vscode/mcp.json
- https://github.com/Azure-Samples/remote-mcp-functions-python/blob/main/.devcontainer/devcontainer.json
Also, I notice that the devcontainer set up has additional extensions and settings configured. Should those be aligned?
