Just a note. Couldn't run an AppImage on Alma 8.8....
dlopen(): error loading libfuse.so.2
AppImages require FUSE to run.
You might still be able to extract the contents of this AppImage
if you run it with the --appimage-extract option.

Unfortunately, the destructions in link would not work.
This is what I did instead, which worked:
[sudo] dnf install fuse-libs
