Text/html script tag compression

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Add a script tag with type ="text/html"
2. Use compression on the HTML page.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the contents to be compressed as text/html. However, the contents are
not compressed.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Using JSTL tags, with 1.5.3
