Unclear how to user should interact with the database

After reading the existing docs, I think they would benefit from a "user's perspective" sort of documentation. From what i gather, despite the tool being called "ficus" the thing that users will interact with is actually the client (`confierge` package). It would be great to make that distinction.

Additionally, it would be great if the confierge package could be distributed via pypi to make it easier for people to install.
