In the 2/3/26 behavior working group meeting, Alex P pointed out that the current language describing instrument naming is vague and should be improved.
Current language is simply:
> The instrument_id for AIND should be the SIPE ID for an instrument. If an instrument is not tracked by SIPE, any string will be accepted.
We should be clearer on best practices for instrument naming and how to identify SIPE instrument names when available
