Possible alternative to FunctionWrappers

Hi, I just saw you're using FunctionWrappers. I've wanted to use this in the past, but held back because it seems to have lots of overhead. A few weeks ago @MasonProtter casually posted a nice idea that seems to give the type guarantees of FunctionWrappers without the overhead. I made a gist so I wouldn't lose it:
