stick with markdown? move to HTML

I wonder if the course description content would be better moved to HTML, gh-pages? the wiki ... it would be nice to keep it in some format that could then be converted to others ..., but also be able to display it in a nicely formatted manner for all to browse - markdown is a little limiting in that regard ...
