document the policy for when official images are updated

For the docker hub official adopt open jdk images https://hub.docker.com/_/adoptopenjdk it is not clear what the update policy is for the base os image.

Does the adopt openjdk team automatically release any version of the official docker image any time there is a new version of the base official ubuntu image that it depends on?

I am asking this because i am noticing my container registry notifying me of issues in the adopt open jdk official image related to the underlying ubuntu image. Documenting the official policy is helpful for users.
