can't change browser extension settings in arc and dia browsers

I use both [arc](https://arc.net/) and [dia](https://www.diabrowser.com) browsers.
In both browsers, I can correctly install the chrome extensions, but when I open the extension page, clicking on the "gear" icon has no effect, no settings page is shown.
If I click on "open web UI" or "visit forum" buttons, the related page correctly opens.
I'm speaking about this:

Issue present in:
- dia browser version: 1.32.0 (build 81144) - extension version 0.5.3
- arc browser version: 1.148.0 (81146) - extension version 0.5.3
both on macOS Version 26.3
