Extension API: life-cycle management and dependency injection

Objectives:
1. Plugins, Filters, Dispatchers and other components have to share the same convention and mechanism to create instances and manage their life cycle.
2. All components to optionally implement `Closeable` and `AutoCloseable` interfaces
3. Plugins to support configuration via the standard configuration stack (same as other components).
