generations disappearing once they reach 100% completion? happens more often when controlnet is enabled...

At various times using the plugin I have had issues where the in progress images are displayed during image generation, but when image generation completes the generated image/layer simply disappears

I have tried to reproduce this error to figure out exactly what causes it, the first time it happened in my current session I turned off smart objects and that fixed it

then it started again, then it stopped and I was able to see the new image generations, then it started again and all image generations disappeared after they completed

now I am in a strange situation where everytime I run a generation using controlnnet the final generated image disappears, if I use the same settings without controlnet the final image stays

*** update- now a few minutes later it does not work with controlnet enabled OR disabled- same result- final generated image disappears

what can I do to stop this error and make sure the final generations stay/are not deleted?

does something like resetting the plug-in session help? If so how do I do that?
