The crypto crate already supports Ed25519 verification, and the test workspace runs [Wycheproof vectors](https://github.com/0xMiden/miden-vm/blob/18d9f6361acbf2f8fb22e4780b312e4b4f96cbce/tests/wycheproof/src/lib.rs#L134-L180). Add Ed25519 verification to the precompile VM so programs can use it with the same proof model as the existing signature work. This requires Ed25519 group operations and SHA-512 hashing in the precompile relation.
The issue is complete when:
- the standard registry includes the required Ed25519 group and SHA-512 work.
- the core library has a stable MASM verification interface.
- the precompile AIR and prover enforce the group and hash relations.
- tests reject malformed inputs and small-order points.
- Wycheproof vectors and a mixed workload benchmark cover the new path.
This work belongs under [#3516](https://github.com/0xMiden/miden-vm/issues/3516) and should use the same message and public-key commitment rules as the other signature precompiles. Earlier roadmap issue [#2977](https://github.com/0xMiden/miden-vm/issues/2977) lists Curve25519 or EdDSA and SHA-512 as missing precompile work.
