Population and Sample

For most measures of central tendency. whether the data comes from a sample or a population rarely affects the statistical process, that is, population mean and sample mean are calculated in the same way. However, when it comes to measures of spread, there are different formulas, that is, population variance and sample variance are calculated in different ways.
