Description
When editing, the ISPF stats are lost when updating a member.
We should consider saving ISPF stats, or at least some of the stats.
Other editors like IBM Developer for Z, Zowe, Topaz Workbench, ISPF update 'ISPF statistics' that are stored in the user area of the directory of a PDS or PDSE.
We should determine how to be most compatible with these tools so that people can edit with various editors and also use these services to write to PDS/PDSE members in a reasonable way.

Research direction
Start by examining how libdio updates PDS/PDSE members; the payload names no files, tests, or entry points. Research the ISPF statistics stored in PDS/PDSE directory user areas and compare the behavior of IBM Developer for Z, Zowe, Topaz Workbench, and ISPF. Done means an agreed compatibility scope and verified preservation or update behavior.
