Description
Back in my iphone days, I used a Documents program, basically a file manager that allowed color coding of files. It made it much easier to handle a library (in my case, of books). Perhaps adding that functionality, or even just the capacity to "star" certain files, might be considered.
Thank you for all your work!

Research direction
The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. First clarify whether the desired feature is color labels, starred files, or both, then trace how file metadata is represented, persisted, and displayed in the Android file manager. Done should include an agreed scope and behavior for applying, viewing, and retaining the metadata.
