Description

I use a WebDAV mount to make a WebDAV share available in standard Android filesystem (using DavX5). If I open the share from within Material Files, it try to create the thumbnails for jpg files. I can see the thumbnails, but I get a lot of warnings/error messages. The messages disappear to fast, so that I can't read what they mean in detail, but it is something with I/O error.

I think this has something to do with creating the thumbnails, but I'm not sure.

If I have a local folder open, I didn't have that behavior. But when I open the share, it says "loading" in the top bar, then it shows file and folder count, then again "loading", again file count, then "loading".... and so on, for several minutes. "Loading " appears also only for a snip of milliseconds again and again...

Maybe im wrong with the thumbnails, but this is what I'm thinking is the issue. If I found a way to make a screen record with my device, i can try to make a video, if needed.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the issue in Material Files with a WebDAV mount provided through DavX5, while observing the repeated loading states and thumbnail-related I/O warnings. The issue is resolved when opening a remote folder no longer repeatedly reloads or produces the reported warnings.
