Description

Please, answer some short questions which should help us to understand your problem / question better?

  • Which image of the operator are you using? registry.opensource.zalan.do/acid/postgres-operator:v1.7.1
  • Where do you run it - cloud or metal? Kubernetes or OpenShift? Bare Metal K8s
  • Are you running Postgres Operator in production? no
  • Type of issue? Bug report

Hi
The schema for tolerations in the postgresql crd don't quite match the kubernetes definition. The operator requires key and effect to be set when they are actually optional. from https://kubernetes.io/docs/concepts/scheduling-eviction/taint-and-toleration/:

There are two special cases:
An empty key with operator Exists matches all keys, values and effects which means this will tolerate everything.
An empty effect matches all effects with key key1.

Research direction

No file or test is named. Start by locating the PostgreSQL CRD toleration schema and comparing it with the Kubernetes taint and toleration definition linked in the report. Done means key and effect are optional while the documented empty-key and empty-effect cases remain valid.
