Optimize validation for large datasets

**Feature request**
It would be great to have logging for helpers.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_logging` with default `false`.

No files, tests, or entry points are identified. First locate the helper execution path and configuration handling, then clarify how logging should be emitted and what production use cases require; done means an `enable_logging` option defaults to false and reliably controls helper logging.
