Add TypeScript types for auth

**Feature request**
It would be great to have monitoring for types.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_monitoring` with default `false`.

First reconcile the title's request for TypeScript auth types with the body’s monitoring request. Locate the configuration entry point and the handling of `enable_monitoring`, then verify that its default is `false` and that the requested monitoring behavior is covered before considering the issue complete.
