Add configuration options for export

**Feature request**
It would be great to have timeout for utils.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_timeout` with default `false`.

Start by locating the utils configuration and the export path referenced by the issue, then check how existing options are defined and consumed. Confirm the expected timeout behavior and default before adding the option; done means the setting is available with a default of false and the relevant behavior is covered by the project's tests.
