Add configuration options for compression

**Feature request**
It would be great to have retry for models.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_retry` with default `false`.

No file or test is named. Start by locating the configuration handling and the model execution entry point, then determine how retry should apply; confirm the intended retry behavior and verify that enable_retry defaults to false and works when enabled.
