Optimize services for large datasets

**Feature request**
It would be great to have retry for services.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_retry` with default `false`.

Start by locating the service configuration and service execution paths, then trace how production deployments handle service failures. Define the retry behavior and verify that the new enable_retry option defaults to false and only enables retries when configured.
