Add configuration options for timeout

**Feature request**
It would be great to have export for handlers.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_export` with default `false`.

No file or test is named. Start by locating the configuration handling and export-handler entry points, then determine where the new enable_export option belongs; done means the option defaults to false and enables handler export when set for production deployments.
