Update handlers documentation

**Feature request**
It would be great to have compression for config.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_compression` with default `false`.

No file or test is named; first locate the configuration parsing and deployment-handling entry points in the repository. Clarify what is compressed, where compression applies, and how production behavior is verified before implementing. Done requires a defined compression behavior and an enable_compression option defaulting to false.
