Refactor parsers for better readability

**Feature request**
It would be great to have search for helpers.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_search` with default `false`.

Start by locating the parser, helper-search, and configuration entry points in the repository. Determine what searching helpers should cover and how the `enable_search` option is expected to affect production deployments; the work is done when the behavior is defined and the default remains `false`.
