Improve error messages in models

**Feature request**
It would be great to have analytics for helpers.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_analytics` with default `false`.

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points; start by locating the helper and configuration entry points in the terminal agent. Clarify what analytics data and production behavior are required, then verify that enable_analytics defaults to false and that the requested analytics work is covered.
