Add TypeScript types for models

**Feature request**
It would be great to have serialization for controllers.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_serialization` with default `false`.

No files or tests are named. Start by locating the controller serialization code, model type definitions, and configuration handling for enable_serialization; resolve whether the requested TypeScript model types or controller serialization is the actual scope. Done should include a default-false configuration option and working serialization behavior for the stated production use case.
