Add TypeScript types for api

**Feature request**
It would be great to have monitoring for config.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_monitoring` with default `false`.

No file, test, or entry point is named. Start by locating the API TypeScript definitions and the configuration handling for `enable_monitoring`, then check how defaults are represented. Done means the new option is typed, accepted by configuration, and defaults to `false`.
