Handle edge cases in backup

**Feature request**
It would be great to have pagination for models.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_pagination` with default `false`.

No file or test is named. Start by locating the backup implementation, model handling, and configuration parsing, then trace how an existing backup operation is selected. Confirm the default keeps current behavior and that enabling pagination handles the stated production use case; add or run the relevant tests if the project has them.
