Add unit tests for hooks

Currently parsers lacks proper import support.

**Proposed solution**
Add configurable import with sensible defaults.

**Priority**: Low/Medium

Start by locating the parser and hook implementation, then review any existing unit-test structure. Clarify how configurable imports should work and what the sensible defaults are before implementing them. Done means parser imports are supported with configurable defaults and the hook behavior is covered by unit tests.
