Update core documentation

**Feature request**
It would be great to have pagination for handlers.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_pagination` with default `false`.

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by locating the handler configuration and existing handler tests, then trace how handler requests are processed. Done means a default-off enable_pagination option supports pagination for handlers and is covered by appropriate tests.
