Refactor types for better readability

**Feature request**
It would be great to have retry for api.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_retry` with default `false`.

Start by locating the API request and configuration entry points in the Shell-based project. Review how options are defined and how API failures are handled; confirm the intended retry behavior and that enable_retry defaults to false. Done means the option is available and retry support works for production deployments.
