Improve components performance

**Feature request**
It would be great to have retry for lib.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_retry` with default `false`.

No file, test, or entry point is named. Start by locating the library behavior and existing configuration handling, then determine where retries belong and how failures are represented. Done means an `enable_retry` option defaults to false, enables the requested retry behavior when true, and is covered by appropriate tests.
