Support compression configuration

**Description**
Currently store lacks proper timeout support.

**Proposed solution**
Add configurable timeout with sensible defaults.

**Priority**: Low/Medium

The issue does not name a file, test, or entry point. First reconcile the title's compression reference with the body’s timeout request, then locate the store implementation and its existing configuration path. Done means the intended setting is configurable and has sensible defaults, with coverage for the resulting behavior.
