Improve data performance

**Feature request**
It would be great to have timeout for components.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_timeout` with default `false`.

No files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by locating component execution and configuration handling, then determine how a timeout should behave and what production use cases require; done means the new enable_timeout option defaults to false and reliably applies to components.
