Optimize validation for large datasets

**Feature request**
It would be great to have analytics for types.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_analytics` with default `false`.

No files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by tracing how configuration options are defined and consumed, then clarify which type analytics are required, where they should appear, and what production behavior and tests would establish that the feature is done.
