Improve error messages in core

**Feature request**
It would be great to have analytics for config.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_analytics` with default `false`.

No files, tests, or entry points are named. First reconcile the title's error-message request with the body’s analytics feature, then locate the configuration parsing and core behavior that would consume enable_analytics. Done should be defined by the maintainer to cover the default false value and the intended production analytics behavior.
