Support pagination configuration

**Feature request**
It would be great to have export for middleware.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_export` with default `false`.

No file or test is named. Start by locating the middleware configuration and export-related entry points, then clarify whether the request concerns pagination or middleware export and how `enable_export` should apply. Done means the intended configuration is implemented with a default of `false` and its behavior is covered by an appropriate test.
