Add TypeScript types for data

**Feature request**
It would be great to have search for data.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_search` with default `false`.

No files or tests are named. Start by locating configuration parsing for `enable_search` and the existing data-handling or search entry points; done means the option defaults to false and the requested data search works for the stated production use case.
